I've seen Josh live 7 times dating back to the "Dressed Up Like Nebraska" days and I have to say that last night's performance just might be my favorite.

I'm terrible at remembering set lists but he was in a feisty mood musically and pretty much played nothing but up-tempo songs (with the exception of "Sad Eyes", which closed the show) and didn't play anything off of the first three albums.  The band was also in perfect form.

And to echo something said in a different thread....Josh looked positively (4th Street) Dylan-esque last night.  I would have loved to hear him cover "Lay, Lady, Lay" as he did in Tuscon.  In fact, even though he didn't play several of my favorites (Otro Lado, Feelin' No Pain, Rise) my only quibble with last night's show is that it would have been great if he had thrown a cover in there somewhere.  In the past shows I've attended he almost always adds some unexpected nugget into the mix.  Oh well....I more than got my money's worth last night.  I shouldn't complain.

I agree with your assessment of last night's show--the only thing that could have possibly made it any better would have been an unexpected cover song. The venue was cool (with the minor exception of that disco ball giving the bar a couples' skate/junior high dance vibe), the crowd was awesome, and the setlist was great too. Speaking of which....I, too, am terrible at remembering these things but my friend nabbed a legit setlist--which said "ALB, NM" at the top, by the way.  Smiley

*This might be numerous bottles of Stella talking, but I don't recall "London Bridges" being played; however I do remember "Nice To Fit In" sometime during the show.

I don't remember him playing "London Bridges" either.  If I'm not mistaken the second song he played during the encore was "Love Vibration".  But then that might be too many bottles of Heineken talking.

You're right--he did play "Love Vibration." How could I have forgotten that? Oh wait.... Hopefully someone's designated driver will chime in and let us know what else we missed.

As for the Dylan look, I agree with the outfit but will have to put my two cents in about his hair and say that I think the style is more late-70s Tom Waits or early-80s Nick Cave, perhaps a touch of Some Girls-era Keith Richards.

...Okay, I've given that way too much thought.

P.S. I'm tempted to change my member name to "Eli Manning" to get some Giants love on here.  Wink

Well, that just goes to show how great Josh's music is -- even Cowboy and Giant fans can find common ground.

Given the game that Umenyiora had against the Eagles on Sunday maybe that would be a better member name for you.

So true!

I hope Plaxico is back this Sunday, that way they can actually score some points. Sacks are exciting but not nearly as satisfying as a bona fide touchdown.
