And now, for something not recent indeed, but with eternal quality, I have been revisiting:
- Gordon Lightfoot ( why is he always on the shadow of Bob Dylan?! Even Bob said once that when he was listening to Gordon's songs he didn't want them to stop...)
- Bellamy Brothers (great country music)
- Seals and Crofts

been streaming new stuff here: http://www.npr.org/templates/player/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=124114812&m=124115224

Gorillaz is so-so, Frightened Rabbit isn't terrific either, on the other hand Broken Bells (with James Mercer of the Shins) is nice.

Mark Mulcahy. Fathering. I bought it ages ago and stashed it away somewhere after only a few listens.  Never mind overjoyed, just start with happy.  Suddenly it just seems to make so much sense.

Didn't know that Joe Pernice and the boys had a new one out - can't wait to sink my teeth into that one. They're always so solid.

Been listening to:

Jason Collett - Rat a Tat Tat
The New Pornographers - Together
Beach House - Teen Dream
Zeus - Say Us

I'm on a huge Dave Matthews Band kick. I dunno if any other forum members are fans... most of my pals can't stand his voice.

Particularly the Before These Crowded Streets album - I love the darker and more busy stuff that the band does.

I'm currently wearing out "Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle" by Bill Callahan. Really, stunningly beautiful.

I've been watching / listening to the Jackson Browne DVD, "Going Home", and it's been quite revealing! I remember someone telling me on here a few years ago that he was just a support act in the USA these days, which is something that i really didn't believe, as he's surely up there in Division 1, as far as singer / songwriters go ( and i think that Andy and duck would back me up on this? ), along with Uncle Neil and Dylan. If he isn't as relevant in the US as he used to be, i think that's kind of sad, showing that certain artists are taken for granted in their countries of birth. Any thoughts?  Undecided

It's a great album isn't it Will! Do you like Woke On A Whaleheart too? It's brilliant too. I think I am in need of a Smog revisit!
